Integrated Community-Based Screening for HIV, Syphilis, and Pregnancy Screening in Conflict-Affected Regions: A 3 Year Cross-Sectional Study of 1,562 Women in Southwest and Northwest Cameroon.

In Cameroon, maternal mortality remains a profound public health challenge, particularly in the Southwest and Northwest regions where localized conflict has severely disrupted the healthcare landscape. The ongoing instability has led to the widespread destruction of healthcare infrastructure and the displacement of thousands, rendering routine Ante-Natal Care (ANC) inaccessible for many vulnerable women. In such settings, Syphilis and HIV represent leading causes of preventable adverse pregnancy outcomes, including stillbirth and neonatal death. This study, conducted by Vision in Action Cameroon (VIAC), evaluates the Sero-prevalence of these infections through a specialized "Triple-Test" requirement, simultaneously screening for HIV, Syphilis, and Pregnancy to prioritize maternal health and bypass the barriers created by conflict termed the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon.
