Promoting Menstrual Health in Schools
Supported by IREX, the Youth Excel project is a research-based initiative that aims to improve menstrual health management through research and peer education and the use of comic books. It focuses on addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by menstruating individuals and reducing menstrual stigma, with the aim of improving their overall wellbeing and quality of life in terms of SRHR. The project aims to gather valuable data to drive evidence-based interventions and policies, including boys’ participation in menstrual health and reducing menstrual stigma. Using a research to change approach will ensure that knowledge and support reaches people who may face barriers to accessing accurate information. The project aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all menstruating people, ensuring that MHM is normalised and given the importance it deserves in communities.
