Advocacy Program

VIAC’s advocacy programme focuses on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), ensuring that everyone has the right to make informed decisions about their health. We use a variety of strategies to achieve our goals, including education, policy advocacy, community engagement, capacity building, research and influencing social norms. Education campaigns raise awareness about SRHR, while policy advocacy involves working with government bodies and stakeholders to advocate for policies that promote SRHR. Community engagement empowers grassroots organisations and individuals to advocate for SRHR, while capacity building involves providing training programmes. Research projects provide evidence to support SRHR advocacy, and social norms are influenced by challenging harmful gender stereotypes and cultural practices. The aim is to create a world in which SRHR are respected, protected and fulfilled.
